I started a blog back in November mainly as a way to keep friends and family up to date without worrying that I'd forget to email someone when something happened. I really would encourage people to do this no matter what form the blog/diary takes. It's helpful for far flung family and friends and it's rather cathartic for the blogger. Smiley

I've had several updates to my blog since I originally posted the link. A friend of mine has had to start a cancer blog for her mother who has had a reoccurrance of her breast cancer, and she mentioned tonight what a huge help it is to have one place to update and point people to. Sure, she still updates some people by phone, but those who are out of her area can check her blog at their convenience. She said it's a big help. So not only do I really recommend doing it as a catharsis, but also for ease of updating friends and family.
